With local secondary school provision severely lacking, parents in the villages to the west of Wokingham joined forces with Reading-based education charity CfBT Schools Trust to investigate the possibility of opening a new Free School.
The preferred location was the former Ryeish Green school. It was imperative the site had a fresh start: a scholarly examination of local historic maps resulted in the name Oakbank coming top of the class. We created a new identity, designed the prospectus and produced consultation materials and posters to reassure the DfE, prospective parents and the local community of the validity of the proposals. In October 2011, the DfE gave the go-ahead for Oakbank and the school will be opening in September 2012. We’re delighted to have played a part.

Cream Design brought genuine credibility to our project and realised our vision perfectly. This would not have been achieved without a painstaking attention to detail, flair, patience and dedicated hard work. We cannot thank the team enough for going above and beyond what was expected of them and would highly recommend them.
